FAQ
Still Have Questions?
We’re here to help you feel comfortable before scheduling your first session.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek therapy because they’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, navigating a life transition, or simply want to better understand themselves and build healthier patterns. If something in your life isn’t working the way you’d like, therapy can provide support, perspective, and practical tools to help you move forward. This reflects Keri’s belief that therapy isn’t only for moments of crisis.
What happens during the first therapy session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, the challenges you’re facing, and what you hope to accomplish. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and discussing an approach that fits your unique needs.
Who do you work with?
I provide therapy for:
- Children (ages 4+)
- Teens
- Adults
- Families
Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, your child, or your family, therapy is tailored to your unique situation and goals.
What kinds of concerns do you help with?
Every person’s story is different, but some of the most common concerns I help clients navigate include:
- Anxiety
- ADHD
- Depression
- Stress and burnout
- Parenting challenges
- Life transitions
- Relationship concerns
- Emotional regulation
- Self-esteem
- Grief and loss
- Women’s issues
- Neurodivergence
If, after learning more about your concerns, I believe they fall outside my scope of practice or that another provider would be better suited to meet your needs, I’ll be transparent about that and help you find appropriate resources or referrals.
What makes your approach different?
I believe therapy should never feel like a one-size-fits-all experience. Every client has different experiences, strengths, and goals, so I take time to understand what matters most to you before creating a personalized approach. My goal is to provide a space where you feel heard, respected, supported, and challenged in ways that encourage meaningful growth.
Do you offer in-person and online therapy?
Yes. I offer both in-person therapy at my office in Fullerton, California, as well as secure telehealth sessions for clients throughout the state. While I always do my best to accommodate your preferences, session formats are ultimately guided by current scheduling availability and what is clinically appropriate to best support your needs.
Do you accept insurance?
No. I am a private-pay practice and do not accept insurance.
Choosing to remain independent allows me to focus entirely on providing personalized care without the limitations that insurance companies often place on treatment, session length, or diagnosis requirements. It also helps protect your privacy by reducing the amount of personal health information that must be shared with insurance companies.
What if I'm nervous about starting therapy?
That’s completely normal.
Many people feel unsure before their first appointment and wonder what they’ll say or whether therapy will really help. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out—we’ll take it one step at a time, together.
Will your dogs be at the office?
One or more of my dogs will be present in the office during our sessions. Their calm presence often helps create a warm and welcoming environment, but they are never the focus of therapy.
I’m always happy to answer any questions before your first appointment.
How do I get started?
Getting started is simple.
Reach out through the contact form or give me a call to schedule a brief consultation. We’ll talk about what you’re looking for, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether we’re a good fit before scheduling your first appointment.
Where healing meets growth.
Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, your child, or your family, I’d be honored to help you take the next step.
